The right technology is the difference between an office and a productive office.

You look beyond the MFP, phone system or software and take an in-depth look at the quality of the organization (and their service experience) hawking their wares. For example, if you are in the market for hardware such as a copier, printer or phone system, you should ask your prospective dealer the following questions:

• Do they have service technicians in your local area?
• What does their supply ordering process look like? Can you order online or only over the phone? Do they have an auto-toner or auto-fulfillment program?
• Do they have a dedicated dispatch team to field service requests?
• Do they collect meter reading over the phone or automatically with an electronic collection tool?
• Does anyone audit their service performance (for example we are audited annually by PROs Elite 100)

These questions could make the difference between a rewarding long-term relationship or several years of frustrating service and billing headaches.
